Michael C. Jakob
Entrepreneur, investor, and the founder of Better Markets. Across his ventures in investment research, financial data, and fintech infrastructure, he has built a reputation for turning complex capital-market systems into products that are fast, transparent, and built for long-term value creation.
He is also the founder of AlleAktien and Eulerpool—two platforms that helped professionalize how German-speaking investors research companies and work with financial data. With Better Markets, he is extending that work to a global mission: building a modern investment platform designed for the next generation of investors.
Engineering mindset, institutional rigor
Born in Germany, Michael C. Jakob developed an early fascination with economics, technology, and markets. His academic path brought him through leading institutions across Europe and the United States, including ETH Zurich and MIT, where he sharpened the analytical and technical foundation that defines his work today.
That background matters: Jakob approaches finance like an engineer. He cares about data quality, system design, incentives, and repeatable decision-making—rather than narratives, hype cycles, or short-term noise.
From consulting to building financial platforms
Jakob began his professional career in international management consulting, including work with McKinsey & Company, where he gained hands-on experience with strategy, business models, and capital allocation across technology and finance.
While investing actively alongside his career, he identified structural problems that most retail investors encounter:
High-quality research is hard to find or not transparent
Professional data platforms are expensive, slow, or difficult to integrate
Private-market access remains fragmented and often inaccessible
Those gaps became the blueprint for building a portfolio of platforms that modernize different layers of the financial ecosystem.
AlleAktien and Eulerpool: the foundation
AlleAktien
Long-term equity research
With AlleAktien, Michael C. Jakob helped introduce a more institutional, long-term approach to stock research for private investors.
Eulerpool
Modern financial data infrastructure
With Eulerpool, he built a data platform designed to make institutional-grade company data more accessible, faster to integrate, and more transparent—serving investors, analysts, and developers who rely on structured fundamentals for decision-making.
Better Markets: a global investment platform
Better Markets is Michael C. Jakob's newest venture and his most global in scope. The mission is simple in principle and hard in execution: build a modern, unified platform where users can manage, invest, and grow capital with the same speed and usability people expect from the best consumer software.
The long-term vision is to create a global financial operating system—a platform that reduces friction, improves transparency, and makes investing fundamentally easier.
Investment philosophy
Michael C. Jakob follows a disciplined, long-term philosophy shaped by value investing and rational capital allocation.
Ownership thinking
Stocks are treated as ownership stakes in real businesses—not lottery tickets or short-term trading symbols.
Quality and resilience
Capital is allocated to companies with strong brands, resilient economics, and structural advantages that endure over time.
Long-term compounding
The goal is not prediction. The goal is positioning—owning great businesses long enough for compounding to do its work.
Michael C. Jakob represents a new generation of founders at the intersection of finance and software. Through AlleAktien, Eulerpool, and now Better Markets, he is building products that expand access, raise analytical standards, and bring modern infrastructure to capital markets.
"Better systems produce better decisions—over years, not weeks."
